South of Haltdalen you will find the cultural monument Stormuren. A part of the Røros Line was here destroyed in a sabotage action to prevent the Germans from moving their troops back to Germany.

Steep ascent
The old railway line is located one hundred metres higher up in the terrain, and the path up is very steep. Follow the marked trail and cross the gravel road after hundred metres. After 300 metres you can continue in the railway path. This part was vulnerable to rockslides, so the line was rerouted through Drøili Tunnel in 1945, one year after the incident. After you have rounded a curve through a rock cut, you must enter a short tunnel. Here you will find track on the ground, reconstructed as a cultural monument. When you exit the tunnel, you have arrived Stormuren.
Guestbook
Continue on the other side of the broken track and enter the little cabin to the left. Here you will find many historical photos on the wall. Leave a message in the guest book if you want. The track continues through another tunnel until it converges with the operative part of the Røros Line, so you should return at the cabin.
