In order to reduce the steepness, the Holmestrand—Vittingfoss Line had a long curve down to Hvittingfoss. This part is today a rail trail with a great view over the Lågen Valley. The first kilometre keeps close to the mountainside and continues through a farmland area.

Steep part
Just after you have passed the county boarder, the corridor bends to the left. The first kilometre keeps close to the mountainside and continues as a gravel road through a farmland area. On your way you will pass a tourist information board about the railway with old photos.
Hvittingfoss Station
Keep to the right when the gravel road comes out in Gulliveien. The railway corridor continued straight forward, but this part has been replaced by arable land. After a while you will end up where Hvittingfoss station used to be, but unfortunately it burned down in 2013. The only thing left is the railway bridge on the spur to Vittingfoss Brug, which is situated about a kilometre south of Hvittingfoss.
How do I get there?
Follow National Road 32 from Sundbyfoss towards Hvittingfoss. After you have passed the county border to Buskerud and started on the descend, take a left up the gravel road before the sharp bend. You can park along the gravel road.
