Draisines are available for rental at Figgjo station every Sunday from April to October. You can either cycle the 3-kilometre stretch between Figgjo and Ålgård or from Figgjo and 5 kilometre northwards to Foss-Eikeland. This trip tip presents the former alternative.

De Forenede Uldvarefabrikker
Draisines are available for rental at Figgjo station, and a helmet is included in the price. Be careful when you cross Figvedveien after 300 metres. The old factory buildings you pass on your left belonged to De Forenede Uldvarefabrikker. This was one of Norway's largest textile factories when it opened in 1916. They also played an important role to built the Ålgård Line since effective transportation was crucial for the company.

Halt and railway bridge
Be careful when you cross the level crossing. This is also where the halt Figgjo fabrikker was situated, a nearby stop for the factory workers. Soon you will cycle over a 55-metre railway bridge. This was built as late as in 1986.

Beautiful part
The river Figgjo will follow you closely to the left after you have crossed the municipal border. Look both ways
before crossing the next level crossing. The final part is especially beautiful. Here you will cycle through an area with waters on both sides of the track.

Railway restaurant
Lift up your draisine and turn it round when the track ends. If you want to visit the terminal station, you must continue on foot for about 300 metres. Ålgård station is well preserved and situated on the side of the road from the shopping centre. The locomotive shed has been rebuilt and is today an Italian restaurant which is worth a visit.
