The Kykkelsrud Line opened in 1910 to transport heavy equipment during the construction of Kykkelsrud Power Plant. Timber and wood chips were also transported to Glommens Træsliberi. The freight transport terminated in 1961.

Cycle and Footpath
Parts of the corridor is today a cycle and footpath between Askim and Krosby. The remaining part to the hydroelectric power station is a rail trail. There are remains of a railway bridge over the power canal at Kykkelsrud.
