The Skøyen–Filipstad Line was a part of the Drammen Line, which opened between Oslo West Station and Drammen on 7 October 1872. After the Oslo Tunnel was opened to Skøyen on 30 May, almost all trains terminated at Oslo Central Station instead. On 25 May the year after, the station closed. The stretch between the station and Filipstad was closed three days later.

The Filipstad accident
On 23 February 2019 a group of young people entered the tunnel at Filipstad. One was killed and two were injured after they had climbed over a parked train and touched the overhead line.
