Skinnelangs, Lørenskog Historical Association and Turvenn arrange a cultural-historical walk along the Losby Line from Sørlihavna to Østmorksaga in Lørenskog municipality. After the hike there will be a social gathering at Losby Gods, the manor house from 1850.
The Losby Line opened in 1861 between Fjellhamar and Losby to transport timber from Østmorksaga sawmill. Today most of the corridor is a popular hiking trail which runs through the lush Losby valley.
Erlend Garåsen from Skinnelangs and Bjørn Tjønnås from Lørenskog Historical Association are the tour guides. The stretch Sørlihavna–Østmorksaga–Losby Gods is about seven kilometres long, and the walk will take approximately 2.5 hours, including breaks. You may purchase food and drinks as well as an excellent dinner at Losby Gods after the arrangement.
Meetup
The meeting time is 11:00 at Sørlihavna. There are direct bus services (line 110) to Sørlihavna bus stop from both Oslo and Lillestrøm. If you're coming by car from Oslo, leave Strømsveien at the exit for Sørli. Go straight on at the roundabout and take a left at the next crossroads. There is a large car park nearby.
